Cytomel is a Triiodothyronine (T3) replacement, a synthetic thyroid replacement hormone, while Synthroid is a Thyroxine (T4) thyroid replacement hormone.

The combination of drugs placed your thyroid function into the hyper range, thus causing the tachycardia and nervousness.

These drugs are not an exact science, and require titration to acheive the desired effect. Responses are highly individualized. Speak with the doctor about adjusting the dosages. Lorazepam may mask nervousness, but it will not correct for an overactive thyroid.

Cytomel is the culprit. The dosage is too high and requires titration. Both drugs may require titration if they are used concomitantly (together).
