i'm using remeron for 2 month now and i faced 2 problems,1st gaining weight,2nd my period doesn't came,,i need to stop it plzzzzzzzzzz ,,how can i stop it

Hey thanks for the reply on Remeron, how are you? Am enjoying this site, think it's just so comforting to be able to chat to others who are in the same boat as me.  Use to think i was some kind of freak having this condition, never told anyone, only the people extremely close to me.  Now i'm far more relaxed about it, i've come to realise that if people don't accept me for who i am then they arn't worth being in my life.  It's not my problem it's theirs.

SSRI. Works for anxiety as well. Blocks of some nerve receptors in the brain. Thus lowering the anxiety level. Is an anti-depressant. Just most people gain weight when using it. I am the odd exception.

What is Remeron? is it a SSRI, benzodiazepine or betablocker?  Is it fast acting?

I took Remeron for 12 months. In that time I went from 165Lbs to 240Lbs and during that time I was keeping my diet down to 900 calories a day.

Remeron is the King daddy of weight gain antidepressants. Taking it is almost like wanting to get fat. I can't speak about the period issue because I am Male.

I always tell people not to take Remeron unless your severly underweight and need to put on pounds fast.

Remeron makes Paxil look like a diet pill.

Accept with me. Gained no weight with it at all. I love the tablet. But it shows how we all differ on medication.

Ask your psychiatrist who put you on it.  It's notorious for weight gain.
