Lexapro lasted about 5 days before I lost it completely, I stayed on prozac for a month and it completely ruined my sex life (I'm a newly wed) my wife thought it was her fault not the medication. I tried brintellex with similar results to the prozac for a month and a half. The doc seems to think I may be completely intolerant of ssris and was ready to just put me on a benzo alone, but I asked if there was anything else to try first so she started me on 25mg zoloft. It's been giving me terrible headaches since I started it a month ago, and then whatever it was that happens last night.
How long did you take the other antidepressants you've tried? Unfortunately, most ADs will cause an increase in anxiety, but it's almost always short lived.
Oh also we just bought my wife a new car yesterday, so it was a pretty stressful day.
I've been on the xanax for 2 months, and the zoloft for almost a month. Every ssri I try makes my anxiety worse which is why I'm on such a low dose of the zoloft. I've been having terrible headaches since 2 days after I started it. I'm not suicidal, I mean who doesn't ever think it'd be easier occasionally, needless to say I don't plan on it, but it has been on my mind alot more since I've tried like 4 different ssris in 6 months, I don't know why I can't handle them.
Hmmm. Sounds like you were sleepwalking/talking. Do you do that frequently? Did you take any other medications (even OTC), or drink any alcohol? Anything at all different?
How long have you been on the Zoloft and Xanax?
Have you been suicidal at all in the past? I'm assuming you're not suicidal presently (while awake)?
I wouldn't get too crazy worrying about this, it's probably an isolated incident, and not much to be concerned about. If the gun has you concerned, either move it somewhere, or lock it up and perhaps only allow your wife to know where the key is (or the combination) for a while, just to put your mind at ease.
It's seems like, from your characterization of the event ( using the term "retrograde amnesia"), that you've perhaps been doing some research, with the help of Dr. Google? I will caution you to be very careful. Google is an anxiety sufferer's worst enemy. Also, giving what happened a label such as you did kind of makes it pack more of a punch, if you know what I mean? "
"Sleepwalking"....versus "retrograde amnesia"......one sounds like not a big deal, while the other is more intimidating. You don't want to send those kinds of messages to your brain.
Hang in there, and let us know how you're doing, okay?
