I also take Zoloft and the only side effect I noticed was a dry mouth for about a week. Now, over a year since I began taking it, the only "side effect" I feel is drowsiness, which is why they have you take it at night. I haven't slept this good for years, I do have some bizarre dreams, but they're NOT scary!
Zoloft builds rapidly to a therapeutic level, 1-2 weeks, which is quite fast for an AD. I know that within a month of starting it, I felt noticeably better.
But, as you know, we are all different in how we react to meds, so even though you've just gotten two positive endorsements for Zoloft. there are others here who will have negative things to say. You just have to be patient and see how it affects you personally. I believe that trying to think positively and trying not to become hyper-vigilant about every litttle sensation you feel helps, even though I know how very difficult that is.
I'd say that if you've been taking it for nearly a week with no signs of side effects, you'll do just fine on it.

Yes, I am on it right now. I am glad that you are doing ok with it so far. I agree that if we are nervous about taking something we tend to relate any and all symptoms to what we believe is the cause even if it is not. I know when I start or stop it, it is probably magnified by my worries about it as well.
thank you so much for your advice ..
Been taking it now for still less then a week no effects so far its my emotions going that worries me most ,,
Are you stil taking it now?
I actually switched from Celexa to Sertraline (Zoloft) a long time ago and I actually prefer Sertraline, but each of us are different and what is good for one may not be good another in my opinion. Whenever I take medications like Sertraline, I do have a few side effects when I start or adjust the dosage, but they tend to go away in a couple of weeks. I would stress patience and keep an open line of communication open between you and your prescribing doctor...keep us posted!
