You are definately not alone. Its weird how anxiety can manifest itself in so many different forms. When I 1st started having anxiety it was more heart palps ,crushing chest, tingles in my left arms,  feeling like I couldnt catch my breath,. Now almost 20 yrs later its more lightheadedness, numb head or crushig feeling in it  and the visual distortions. I just took a really long hot Epsom bath. I found a Lavendar scented Epsom as I read the Magnesium sulfate in it can do wonders for your nerves & help distress. if you are up to try its 2 cups in a bath soak for at least 15 mins. If you do that right before you pop in your meditation CD, I bet you might just sleep like a baby.
Keep me posted & write anytime you'd like :)

Hi girlwithhope,

I too have a lot of visual distortion with my anxiety. I work on a computer all day long so some days its so hard to focus. I even went to the Eye dr just to get them checked recently bc I never really had this symptom until a few months ago & I have had anxiety for almost 20 yrs. It manifests in many ways. I just try to not give it any more attn that what it deserves. I also have had weeks of waking up feeling anxious but I know that I was waking up looking for it, asking myself...is it still here etc? Try buying some renu eye drops to hydrate the eyes that might help. I have allergies so I take them daily anyway. Also, since you cant take many meds, have you tried meditation? I find listening to guided meditation at night before bed helps me wake up relaxed & refreshed.
Hope some if this info helps. If anything know you are not alone in this.

Be well

~Chrissy

Hi. Your symptoms may or may not be anxiety related, though anxiety can manifest physical symptoms in some people. I would not only see your opthamalogist, but also a regular physician to address your symptoms in detail, provide treatment, and refer you to a specialist if necessary. Hope this helps-GM
