Thank you guys so much for ur comments,i took my first dose of meds tonight and im thinking more positive now,for some reason that side effect just stuck in my head and the more i thought about it the worse i felt.did you guys have any side effects from ur meds?by the way im on Klonopin and zoloft
Keep in mind that your antidepressant will take 4-6 weeks to reach full therapeutic level in your system, so be patient. Your anxiety medication should help right away. Also, if you should start having suicidal thoughts (doubt you will) don't stop your medication abruptly, contact your doctor, you have to wean off these types of medications or suffer withdrawal. I agree with sgately in that suicidal thoughts were the least of my worries! You'll be fine.
You should be fine with the thoughts. It was the least of my concerns about SSRI's, but they are live savers when you need them.

I am 31 and she did say they are more common in younger ppl,but that just scared me like i was just gonna jump up and grab a knife or something,i guess i should have asked her more questions about it.I just want to feel better i have never had suicidal thoughts i am just the opposite im afraid everyday is my last because of my anxiety i always think im gonna have a heart attack or something.thanks for ur comments my husband took tonight off work and doesnt go back till tomorrow afternoon so im gonna try the medicine.but i will def stop if i get bad thoughts!!!
Suicidal thoughts are more common in teens than adults. If you start to have them, you won't act on them just call your doctor and let her know, she will probably switch your medication. It's a rare side effect, don't allow that to stop you from taking your medication and feeling better. Take care.
How old are you, typically the suicidal thoughts effect younger more than adults. You may get racing thoughts or what I called odd thoughts. I had random weird thoughts of driving into the other lane, or the thoughts like what would happen if. But they were never depressed suicidal thoughts, just odd random thoughts of violence that came and went. They were scary, but never so powerful that I would really act on them, even after drinking a few beers.

i meant shouldnt have suicidal thoughts on that last part haha, sorry
It is not normal to have suicidal thoughts. If you do experience any, that is unusual and a sign to stop taking the medication. But you wont know until you try. Often, either anxiety or depression symptoms worsen before they get better, but that doesnt happen all the time. Dont worry, you should have suicidal thoughts.
