I know that when I am under stress, my sinuses close up and the back of my tongue feels as if it swells and gets numb.  I also find it hard to swallow.  Started having sinus problems after I had an anxiety attack that put me in the hospital.  My ENT treated me for an "small" sinus infection, but the meds gave me more problems than the infection.  All he could suggest is taking allergy meds and Mucinex.  Wishing you all luck & a happy holiday! - Irena

Yes, I think so. Everytime I got in a fight with my husband this spring I would have an allergic attack of sneezing for 1 hour. Then turned into daily chronic sinus after we atarted having financial problems.
So, fight or flight reactiuons can worsen existing weaknesses in my humble opinion.

I think anxiety can increase about any physical complaint we suffer from, it seems to accentuate our weak spots, I just ignore them now.  I went through several weeks of migraines/headaches and the more I thought about them the worse I became, until one night I said to myself "That's it, ENOUGH" and the next morning I felt a little better.

Perhaps this sounds too simple, but it worked for me!
