has anyone on here tried st.johns wort or had any success with it ? currently trying to taper off of xanex .......

I was on St Johns Wort before and have taken it for years if I knew then what I know now I would have been taking more of it. But if you take any SSRI medications you are warned not to use this herbal remedy even for quite some time after finishing your SSRI med. I have done a lot of searching and there are mixed opinions about how safe after medication you can start to use your St. Johns Wort again. You dont say if you are already taking any antidepessants at lot depends on what you are taking.

In general, the more tests done with STW, the less effective it seems to be -although ionce it was touted at a sort of "Nature's Prozac." What does your doc say?
