It is common when suffering from severe anxiety and panic to start looking desperately for the *cure*...the *quick fix*.  You will find a ba-zillion (yes, precisely, exactly that amount...lol) anxiety "remedies" out there.....from certain diets, supplements, hypnotism, to the commonly Rx'ed SSRI meds (ie Paxil, Zoloft, etc), to psychotherapy....etc etc.

No doubt that something different may work for different people.  I know what has worked for ME, and it was a combination of meds (SSRI's and short term benzos) along with therapy....but I don't knock what works for someone else.

Like I recently told another poster here....my main thing with this stuff is to pick something, research it thoroughly, if it is a supplement or sorts...run it by your doc to be on the safe side...and then give it a try.  Once you've decided on what YOU feel may help you...try it, and stick to it for a while.  You can't try one thing, then switch to something else 2 weeks later.  Whatever method you decide on...give it a fair shake...if after ample time if doesn't seem to be helping...THEN try a different approach.  That is the only way you will be able to evaluate if a treatment method is working or not.

The simplest thing you can do and a GREAT starting point is talk therapy...which I personally feel should be a part of EVERYONE's anxiety treatment anyway.

Just please, be sure to do your homework on some of these treatments...and don't get lured in by unrealistic ads..."PANIC CURE!!!"....OR "STOP PANIC IN ITS TRACKS!" kinds of things, ya know?  They are, after all...trying to get your business.  I have yet to meet, or know of anyone who were completely "cured" of panic attacks.  Where they had one, "fixed" it and never had another.  Are there people like that out there?  Quite possibly.  Is that the "norm", or even "common"?  NO WAY.

Also...remember that even supplements (non prescribed) can still come with side effects, adverse reactions with other meds, etc etc.  Treat anything you decide to take as a "medication"...make sure your doc and pharmacist is aware you are taking it.

Whatever you decide to try...I wish you luck...stick around here...there is invaluable info here and support that is paramount to recovery.
