Remember that taking a vitamin suplliment doesn't mean you're absorbing it! It could simply be passing right thru you and that doesn't do any good! Ask your doctor about Syndion. It's a suppliment that helps you absorb the nutrition you need, and helps your body utilize any vitamins you may be taking. Most people take a daily vitamin everyday, but don't know that they need to eat a certain amount of fats and waters to be able to break down and absorn that tablet into their body. Hope this helps you! ^_^

My doctor recommended I take a Vitamin B complex. She said when you gets anxious, you deplete your b- vitamins. Maybe try these?

Hi, I'm a nutritionist.  Fish oil and Flax oil have been proven to help with depression. (See the book, Miracle Cures, by Jean Carper).  "Nordic Naturals" is an excellent brand of fish oil.  You take 2 a day.  One in the am and one in the pm.  All the B vitamins help with depression too.  If your a woman, take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement that is NOT iron-free.  If your a man, take one that IS iron-free.  A good multi will have all the B vitamins in all the amounts you need.  Try "Nutritech" brand 'All One' powder.  They make one with iron and one without iron.  For women I also recommend a third supplement (however, men only need the first 2 I just mentioned) which is Calcuim/magnesuim/vitaminD3.  There is a product called "Liquid Target-Mins" by Country Life. It's a liquid supplement that has cal/mag/D3 in it, and only those 3 items.  Never buy any supplements in tablet form.  Very few people can break them down.  Buy them in liquid, powder, or capsules.  And it's best to buy them from the health food store because the ones sold else where are full of binders and fillers.

Here's what I myself take each day...I take 8 ounces of soymilk and put it in a blender with 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blueberry's (blueberry's have the most antioxidants of all the fruits on the planet).  I blend them together with 'All One' powdered multi vit/min, the liquid cal/mag/D3 and flax oil (use 1 tablespoon of flax oil per 100 pounds of body weight).  Blend and drink.

Hope this helped :)

Read a book called Natural Highs by Hyla Cass (or Kass), a psychiatrist at UCLA.  She gives a pretty thorough description of all the natural supplements for anxiety and depression, or not all but the ones she knows about.  I managed health food stores for many years, and studied a lot about this subject, but the thing is, everyone's different.  What works for one won't necessarily work for another.  The other thing with natural products is that herbs and amino acids are generally used in combination, since no one is all that strong.  That's also what makes them safer than pharmaceuticals, but also makes them work less well independently.  So look at that book, it will give you a good overall view of the scene.  By the by, another problem with supplements is getting them where you need them, particularly past the blood brain barrier.  Same problem with pharmaceuticals.  Some are better on empty stomach, others better with food, and some versions better than others.  Some companies also make better quality and reliable products than others, as the person who mentioned Nordic Naturals observed.  In the old days, you could go to a good health food store and somebody there would know which companies were best, but that's harder now that Whole Foods has driven most of these stores out of business.  Just never go to GNC.  That's about all I'll say about that!

Good luck

I am taking Gaba and Holy Basil. I was on a very strong medication for my Anxiety and Panic. I tapered myself off of it and now only take the Herbs. I am doing a little better. Hopefully will get better and better. Prescription meds are Awful, and "I should know" I have been on about 50 different ones over the past 21 years of my Anxiety/Panic disorder.
Good Luck!
