OMG! I have just found that I, also have a swallowing problem and I have had it for as long as my anxiety has been present.
I would swallow but then the food wouldn't exactly go down, it would kind of "sit" on the top of my throat and would not go down and I actually had to cough the food back up and try swallowing it again.
Maybe it has something to do with your anxiety? It obviously will not be a problem forever, you will definitely get better, I am sure.
I ve had a "lump in the throat feeling for years" comes and goes without warning.
Had an endoscopy done to rule out possible obstructions.
Doctors verdict : Anxiety/stress.
I would suggest , that you get with your doc and get a barium swallow or an endoscopy done. Just to make sure.
Get your thyroid tested.
Love Venora
i only take 1/2 of a .5 mg klonapin, maybe twice a week. i never knew it was more of a daily med.. build up thing. it seems to do the trick when i need it. i never feel addicted to it, and the dosage is very small.
anyone know a trick for the swallowing issue?
i agree with everything written above^
I HATE that!
I am a bit concerned that you take the clonopin when you "feel" anxious; I believe it is to be taken over a period of time, but your doctor is the final judge on that one. I suggest you get a consult with a therapist to discuss the problem, some talk therapy may be in order. My swallowing problem went away when the panic went away, but occasionally rears its ugly head when stress is very great.
