When switching from Xanax to Klonopin, there is a 3-14 day "window of vulnerability" where you will undergo Xanax withdrawal. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided. The symptoms that are experienced are highly individualized from person to person, but are usually "moderate" in severity. Please understand that this is normal, and it will pass as the Klonopin accumulates.

Klonopin works on the principals of steady-state and accumulation, and will not replace Xanax instantaneously. Klonopin reaches steady-state within two weeks, at which time it will fully replace the dosage of Xanax that you were previously taking. Within one month, Klonopin accumulates to 1.5 times that of steady-state for b.i.d dosing. Once Klonopin accumulates, it may be withdrawn from under the supervision of a doctor.

Worth reading a few of them. You should never just stop Xanax. There is a routine / method to go by. You will find it if you search old posts. Use the name Klonopin as that is what Americans call Clonazepam.
