Whew! I taught 120 fifteen-year-olds a day for over 30 years and can identify with that anxiety! ha Truthfully, xanax made me feel nuts, but clonazepam works for me, especially at night. You need a good doctor ... but sometimes, that sounds like an oxymoron "good doctor," as so many are afraid to treat and act uncaring in our day and time! I luckily found one good psych and am seeing another until the next good one comes along! Someone to talk to helps! Hang in there ... maybe watch an episode of "Jon and Kate" before yours come home, unless you have 8 kids too! Just kidding! Sounds like your anxiety needs to be re-addressed, and you are prob. long since "used to" the meds which once helped you with anxiety! So hopefully a doctor can help you re-adjust your meds! Good luck!
No doubt you know that when the kids come home the peace goes out the window. You might have that thought on your mind. A kind of a build up to 1pm. Suddenly it kind of explodes within. Xanax would have long since lost there power. It is worth, maybe, trying to do a switch over to another tablet, if you feel you need something. That can only be determined between you and your doctor. You have been on them a good while. So it will be a slow process getting off them. Hence another tablet might help. The last thing you need with your anxiety is withdrawls. Do you need all the medication you are on? I thought I was on a lot. You are like a walking chemist. Some forms of medication when taken together can cancel each others out. Some bounce off each other making side effects worse. So to get the balance right you will need a good doctor.
Dare I even suggest that coming up to 1pm you do some exercises. It might let go of some of the anxiety. Or can you find something to do to take you attention off the time? Gardening or reading. A distraction. Yes, you have to be there for the kids. Maybe there is something you can all do together. Rather than thinking ' oh, god, not this time again '. Just a case of finding the right thing that suits your family life.
