trying to "retrain" my brain

trying to "retrain" my brain

I've been dealing with a fear of eating since september. Before I had no appetite and never wanted to eat and literally had to force myself to eat. Now I get hungry and will start to eat but then get incredibly anxious about it. I get scared that will get really sick from it. I've been dealing with depression over my grandmas death in january and in march I started getting random bouts of diarrhea from all the stress and depression. Since then my fears have spiralled out of control. I've lost way too much weight which I also stress out about.

How can I retrain my brain so that I don't have horrible thoughts about eating? I get myself so worked up and anxious when I eat that I feel very sick and nauseated after I eat which in turn makes me want to eat even less.

My therapist hasn't really been helping and in fact she hasn't called me back in 2 days about setting up another appointment although I've tried calling her a few times. My insurance starts in january and then I can start looking for a new doc but until then I've got to try and get through this on my own.

I need any help or advice I can get.

Maybe you should try to just eat very tiny proportions through out the day. Also my boyfriend gave me this booklet with CDs of the Linden Method. Its pretty interesting, you should check out the website, it has videos that explain all different kinds of anxiety symptoms.  It has helped me a lot to understand what anxiety is and how it happens.

maybe your body is trying to tell you what is in your diet isn't good....do you use aspertame?...sucralose?....diet products?....this is a natural way for your body to tell you to really take a look at your diet.  Research the web on the dangers of microwave foods...Good Luck!
