twitching lips

hi, I'm 18. Last year I've had a pinworm infection and I was really afraid of it. I took antihelminthics after a week but I found it hard to take it. I had horrible childhood experiences about it because they just went out of my body randomly during the day. I really feared it.
So it took the medication and the infection faded.
The first three nights after that I couldn't sleep continuously because horrible things went into my mind. But evenetually I got to sleep normally. But from then on, I became tense.
Now it's almost a year later, I have experienced lip twitching when I'm in front of the class speaking or singing..It has happened thrice already...
It's really embarrassing for me...
I know I can talk to the class, but I guess my body doesn't obey me....
I keep on telling myslef to relax but my lips always twitch...
Pls. help me.

Tell me more about the twitching; for example, does it make your words hard to understand, by slurring your speech, or some other impediment? (In my case, my mouth would get so dry it felt like I had cotton wads in it, and I actually spoke as if I DID). How noticeable is it to others, really? (Ask a best friend). What does it take to "trigger" it. A big group of strangers, or even just a few friends?

Telling yourself to relax is something that is tough to actually do -I know.

I don't know of any tricks you can play on yourself to get by the problem, but it never hurts to experiment. Time itself may take care of it, but meanwhile a consult with a doctor or therapist can't do any harm. I think one of the reasons you haven't seen to many replies to tour post is that it is a real stumper! I'll do some checking and get back to you.
