I wouldent have thought 2mgs would make you feel so bad in the mornings, but you must get advice before stopping it. But weigh things up first is the 2mgs helping with the neck problems if so then I would carry on and when things improve you will feel better and in focos to whithdraw from the valium.
good luck.

You should NEVER quite taking a benzo without the guidance of your doctor. It's as simple as that. That Michael stopped cold turkey from a dose of 40mg without any w/d symptoms makes him a very lucky, and somewhat unusual individual. While diazepam is one of the easier benzos to w/d from, you should still do it under the supervision of your prescribing doc. It's the safe and smart way.

Namaste Leslie,

I take 40 mg of valium a day as an anti-anxiety agent and have been doing so for 4 years now.

On a couple of occasions, I stopped "cold turkey" with all my medications because I didn't think they were helping me and I was depressed, etc.

The point is that I did not suffer any major withdrawal symptoms even after taking such a large quantity for a long period.

I don't think you would experience any major withdrawal symptoms if you stopped taking 2 mg., hoever, it is not advisable to stop taking any prescribed medication without the prior approval of you healthcare provider.

So, check with him/her and I'm sure they'll tell you it's OK to stop, especially if you're experiencing a cloudy day after taking it at night.

I wish you the best!
