vistaril help... please...

I was taking .5 mg of xanax as needed for bad anxiety which was like every day. My doctor prescribed me 25mg of vistaril so I'll stop taking the xanax. I took one vistaril about two hours ago and feel worse than I did before I took it. Is this because it's new to my body or what?

I feel as if I'm dreaming and don't know what I'm doing or saying. I feel like I can't and am not breathing right... I felt sleepy a few minutes after I took it but not anymore. I don't know if it's my anxiety causing this or if it's actually a reaction to it.

Needless to say, I'm not taking it anymore...

I have also been on it but it was for sleep and I needed 175mg for it to even work. Then I wake up feeling like a bad hangover.  I only use it when I am having a bad panic attack at night to knock me out... Good luck with it as it may work for you after a few days. We are all different and every drug works different for each and everyone....

My doc gave me the same thing.  I took it a few nights and it did nothing...good or bad.
