hi iv have been on effexor for just over 15months now and before that was on them for 6month and stoped due to my 3rd pregnancy
You don't say how long you took Effexor, so it may be you can discontinue med in manner you describe with no difficulties.
Your life and age seem like favorable variables. When I was 23 and had 4 children, I had no difficulties with anxiety or depression (well a little at times). As time passed I observed that the aging process needed to be considered when trying and discontinuing a head med.
Wish you the best.
I'm glad you checked with your doctor and that he gave you to the go-ahead to continue with your taper.
Hang in there and best of luck.

Hi, i been in contact with my doctor and he is behind me all the way and thinks i'm doing great with my weaning off effexor and he is happy for me to carry on with what i'm doing. everybodys different to how they cope but this way for me is great. thanks for the comment :o)
Sorry, but I need to step in and warn people that if they want to wean off Effexor, they absolutely should NOT do it like you did. It is NOT the "best ever" method for weaning off a potent antidepressant. Anybody who wants off their antidepressant should first consult with their doctor about the best way to accomplish this and to keep in close contact during the withdrawl process.
I hope you continue to "feel great and on top of the world." It would be a shame to miss your vacation in September.
I do wish you all the luck in the world.
Peace
