weed and confused thoughts

This is my first time of doing this, and I have to say it feels great to be honest.  I have been smoking a joint a day (on weekends) for the past year.  I have suffered from depression since I was 14 and love to smoke weed because it is relaxing and because I stop worrying/thinking when I am high.
The last couple of times, I have had a racing heart, and a feeling of anxiousness.  For the past couple of weeks I have been wondering if I am happy because I am so unhappy in my own head.  Does anyone else relate to this?

Hi.  I identify with this a lot.  It reminds me of me in my teenage years up to the time I stopped.  I had depression growning up and weed made me feel better.  Once I got older I started drinking too.  Both of them took the thoughts and feelings away.  For a while anyway.  

Weed can absolutley lead to extreme anxiety.  I had eased up and started drinking more until that stopped working too.  After a while all I  could manage to be was angry and violent.  The best thing that ever happened to me was taking a look at myself and get an understanding why I  was anxious or depressed.  Then I could work on it.  I don't recommend switching to booze.  That was a horrible life for a long time.  Twenty plus years of misery.  All the drugs(legal or illegal) and the booze did was help me run and hide from the real problem.  Eventually I couldn't hide anymore and had to face it.  Once I face it though, things started to change.  I bagan to know true happiness and peace.  

I still get some depression but I know there are constructive ways of dealing with it.  I usually look to see where I am feeling some self-pity and start digging there.  I hope this helps.
