wellbutrin vs zoloft weight gain

by macy1970, Mar 26, 2008 08:16PM
In the past 2 months I put my ego aside and got back on zoloft... I suffer from anxiety, that is not always manageable.
I feel it is tough to lose weight. I am 5'4 and 143 lbs. I would like to lose at least 10-15. I have heard that Wellbutrin helps with weight, is this true. If not, is their an anti-anxiety med that I will not gain weight when taking??

UGH..

I have also heard Wellbutrin will not cause weight gain.  I took this years ago and it had such a "speedy" effect, I can see why one might not gain weight.  I only took it for about three days because it made me feel like I was buzzing!

Unfortunately, weight gain is a common side effect of AD's and there is just no way around it.

HELP!  I'm pre-menopausal, and have been taking wellbutrin for one week now because of depression after losing a sibling to ALS.  I have gained around 7 lbs in one week???  I don't know if it is from menopause, or the wellbutrin.  Any imput would be well received.  Thank you!
