when do the symptoms stop??

I've been suffering from anxiety for about the last 5 months but lately I feel like things have been getting better slightly. Just to give you some background, I am suffering from HIV anxiety. I have tested beyond 5 months and all of my tests are negative. Deep down I know that I am negative, but I feel like I need to get my final test at 6 months ( 1.5 weeks away!) for complete relief. What really bothers me are all of the symptoms I have been having such as tingling legs and arms, muscle twitches, headaches, and stomach issues of all sorts. I have recently had a full blood work up and everything is normal. My question is, do the symptoms from anxiety go away instantly after all the anxiety is gone or does it take your body time to get back to is equilibrium? Any feedback from other would be helpful and comforting.

Hello there,

Anxiety is not expressed in the same way by everyone. Normally, anxiety symptoms will tend to go away gradually but in your case if having this last test done can result in an instant cure about HIV anxiety so maybe it will go away instantly. But one thing you may be right is your body that is now used to be in a stressed mood so here again maybe it will take a couple of days for all the symptoms to go away after your final test. If you think all your anxiety was related to HIV i am confident that knowing you are negative will result in a permanent cure of your anxiety even if it takes a couple of days.

Best of luck,
M4

You state you have tested negative for HIV "beyond" 5 months. CONCLUSIVE results for HIV are found at 12 weeks! (3 months post exposure) You have been HIV- for two months but continue to disbelive the facts.
The symptoms you present are anxiety, induced by your fear of HIV, nothing more!
If you had gotten educated about HIV, you could have spent those two months working on any residual anxiety from your experience.
I can only hope that when you get your next (and unnecessary) test done at 5 months, your anxiety will "magically" disappear.
Unless you have already been banned from the HIV Forum, post there and you will be told by the "experts" that this next test is a waste of time. You received peace of mind two months ago!
You DO NOT have HIV. Move on.
Peace
