You'll hear a lot that medication is the magic bullet answer to every problem.  Sometimes it is the only solution, but before you go that route, which can be an endless merry-go-round, give therapy a try with a psychologist.  If you see a psychiatrist, you'll get advice on medication most likely given that most of them no longer do any therapy; if you see a psychologist, particularly one who specializes in anxiety such as a practitioner of CBT, you might get out of this without getting on that merry-go-round.  If it doesn't work and you get worse, the psychologist or you can decide that a psychiatrist and medication is necessary, but I wouldn't start there.

Yes, you should see a psychologist. There is no reason you should have to live like that. With a medication such as zoloft and some therapy you could be back to your normal self. Good luck!
