wish I hadn't read about seizures!

Ok I know I probably shouldnt post this on here but I am freaking out now. Ive been having anxiety and panic for about 6 months and when I have a panic attack I get these strange head zaps. Ive just read that sometimes people are diagnosed with panic attacks when their actually having seizures because aparently they can be very similar! Has anyone else heard this? Could this be what im having? How do you test for seizures? Whats seizure induced psychosis?

involuntary eye movements can be spasms, which is a symptom of anxiety. I used to think I was having seizures when I'd fall asleep and my body would twitch and wake me up and it was just anxiety. I used to think I was having strokes when I got the pins and needles feeling in my hands, and guess what, once again only anxiety. I used to think I was going to have a heart attack when I'd get chest pain, once again, anxiety. Anxiety causes a bunch of symptoms that can also mean serious conditions when they don't. I highly doubt you're having seizures, I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure it would do something to your blood and your blood tests would come back messed up if you were. If it would make you feel better if a doctor told you you're not having seizures then I would go for it, but if I had to put my money on it you're not having seizures.

If you type in seizures and panic attacks on google you will get a whole load of stuff. I know I shouldnt. Their really similar though, I had no idea.
I guess your right though, Ive seen quite a few doctors, had CT scans, bloods...... Im sure its just anxiety. Wish it would go away though! Im even having involuntary eye movements.

Why do you think you shouldn't post this on here? It's the perfect place!
Were you diagnosed with panic by a doctor? There are criteria that must be met to reach this DX and it's my guess you did. Head zaps are very common to us anxiety folks on certain meds. They should go away in time, but if they don't, speak with your doc about them and he/she may suggest a different med. Or simply get use to them, they are annoying but harmless and are not indicitive that a seizure is on it's way.

And where, exactly, did you just read that sometimes people are diagnosed with panic when in fact they are having seizures? If you tell me you read it on the "Hypochondriacs List of Things To Have Today," I will need to get cheesed off. STAY OFF THOSE SITES! The only thing I find surprising is that it's only seizures you're concerned about. Didn't that site also mention brain tumors and MS and cancer and ALS and every other known ailment of man?
If you had a seizure, trust me, you would know it. And trust that if your doctor thought there was some reason to look for another DX for your symptoms, he/she would have. I don't know what "seizure induced psychosis" is, but for crying out loud, don't be looking it up. Since you still have so much anxiety, I would suggest another visit with your doc to address these issues as well as getting a referral to a good therapist. There is a reason you have anxiety and you need to find out what that is. Taking meds will only mask the symptoms, you need to find the cause. And it's NOT seizures.
Peace
