Thanks,I am so happy to only here good about this med.I am from Canada and have 70% coverage from my work place. The doctor gave me 2 months of free samples just to try this med out before paying for it.I don't no what the cost is since I got them handed to me from him. Thanks!
I've been on it since April.
Out of all I've tried it's the most effective for me. Granted medications work differently for everyone. The one thing I realized this morning on my drive to work is that I haven't felt this good in years. My anxiety is at an all time low, my mood is at an all time high. What stood out is that it's only been the last 1-2 months that I've felt this way. They say medication takes 4-6 weeks to kick in. That has always bothered me as it seems like you snap your fingers and boom you're better. I did notice a difference after that time frame but it's nothing like I'm now. People need to work on themselves while on the medication. It isn't a cure all pill. Nothing should be.
Unfortunately I've had more side effects than ever on an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drug but they are manageable. The most common for me is dizziness. I just have fun with it and don't make a big deal out of it. If I fret about the side effects, then they really start to take over.
I agree with Ladydi611--The cost is a dent in the pocket if one doesn't have insurance. Up here in British Columbia, Canada the drug isn't covered by main-stream insurance either. The only way it's covered is if the company you work for has a clause in their group benefits about medication not covered by Pharmacare.
Thanks, glad to hear good about it. In what area did it help in?....Where did you see your biggest change?
I have been on Cymbalta for over a year by a world renowned Psychiatrist after being on a worthless drug called Imipramine. I have totally seen a change in myself and the side effects have been minimal. If weren't for the cost especially after losing insurance I still love it!! I pay 140.00 per month so make sure you shop around if your insurance doesn't help. It is a fairly need drug but specifically for GAD sufferers. Good luck to you!
