That should be something that you ask your doctor. They are the same class of drug, but I am not sure. You don't want to take to much because they are addicting. I take xanax as needed, which isn't very often. I have never heard of someone taking both of those together.
No, do NOT take the Xanax while on KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer. I'm not sure why, but I got caught up in a conversation similar to your dilemma and the answer was an emphatic "no".
If you need sleep and the KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer's not helping you with that, you can do what I do. I basically just stay awake until I'm tired, and then I sleep. Then I get up whenever I need to and usually I'm tired enough by the night time to get to sleep at a reasonable hour (if I have the discipline to actually do it).

Hello,
When making the transition from Xanax to KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer, there is a 3-14 day "window of vulnerability" in which you may undergo Xanax withdrawal. Why? Xanax's onset of action is immediate, and it does not accumulate. Xanax is rapidly metabolized and eliminated from the body. The clinical effect ranges from 4-6 hours after a single dose.
Klonopin's onset of action is delayed. Klonopin works on the principal's of steady-state and accumulation. Klonopin reaches steady-state in two weeks. Since Klonopin carries a longer half-life, it will not immediately replace the Xanax that you were using previously. There is a delayed effect, a "window of vulnerability". In two weeks, the drug will reach steady-state, and the maximum benefit will be obtained. By comparison, Xanax does not reach steady-state or accumulate, it's action is immediate.
Klonopin's onset of action (once steady-state is established) is 45 minutes - 1 hour. When dosed two to three times daily, the anxiety disorder is constantly maintained, as the blood plasma level is held at a steady-state. Unlike Xanax, Klonopin will not "wear off".
Klonopin and Xanax are NOT to be used concomitantly. Within the specified period of time (as outlined above), the Klonopin will replace the Xanax, and the insomnia will most certainly abate.
Therefore, I would advise that you continue to take the Klonopin as it was prescribed, as prolonged Xanax use leads to rapid tolerance and rebound anxiety. Tolerance is largely a non-issue with Klonopin.
You can expect to see an improvement shortly, provided you are taking the Klonopin at least twice daily.
Hi,I am being tapered off xanax and going back on klonopin at the same time.My dr is a pshy.He is ahving me cut the xanax back by 1 pill for a week and adddind 0.5 mg klonopin 3 times a day........so i guess u can take them together'

The other alternative is a temporary one: dramamine. Ask a doctor or at least a pharmacist first, but I was told this was okay.
