xanax taper

Im still 0n 0.5 to 1 mg of xanax as im afraid to stop it.Tapering off it using 0.5 mg klonopin 4 times a day.Been tapering since apil 23 08 from 1 mg of xanax 3 times aday. On thaat day i cut down to 2 mg  a day on may 8 i went to 1 mg  and still trying to get off the last one.Im thinking klonopin is making me depressee and im afraid i might be having some withdrawals from the xanxa worried about having a heart attack or stroke from stopping the xanax even though i mtapering.Im scared..any advice for me.

It's hard to differentiate just how you're going to feel until you finish your weaning off Xanax. Feeling depressed during  Xanax tapering is very common - so is tearfulness, irritability, overwhelming sadness, rebound anxiety...to name a few. I can't offer you any input on how it feels to transition from Xanax to Klonopin, but I would suggest that you wait until you are completely off Xanax, and stabilize, before you decide how you feel on Klonopin.

This is not an easy process...but you are making progress, so try to hang in there and keep going. I wish I knew the proper taper of xanax when you're also taking Klonopin.

Again,  you can get reassurance from your Dr. about the risk of seizure, and also, you can call a pharmacist at your local drug store and discuss the taper with them. I do know that your schedule of tapering of xanax is rather aggressive, however, I repeat, I don't know how it is affected by the usage of Klonopin. That's where your Dr.'s medical opinion comes in, as well as input from the pharmacist.

Make some phone calls right away so you don't keep scaring yourself. You don't need the extra worry right now.
