xanax to ativan crossover

have been on .25 mg 4x daily xanax for gad for 3 months. dr switched me to ativan .25mg 3x daily last tuesday. upped that due to shakiness to .5 mg ativan 3x daily. also take 100 to 200 mg provigil daily to help sleep apnea condition. Have had one of the longest 3 days in a long time. Both dr and parmacist said no problem doing cold swith from xanax to ativan. sleep dr wanted me to try xanax xr. but psychiatrist was aginst it.experiencing classic withdrawal symptoms restlessnes, anxiousness, pacing, trouble concentrating shakiness, tingly skin.
could cross over subject me to xanax withdrawal symptoms. also i think the cross over dosage equivalency may be off.

1mg Ativan = 0.5mg Xanax. So Activian is twice as strong as Xanax. So the first switch your Dr made was wrong. The .25 xanax would equal .5 Activian. They seemed to have copped onto that later. But with all Benzos there is a way to make a change over. You were taking the Xanax 4 times a day. So you would feel some withdrawl (withdrawal) as the Activian is dosed out 3 times a day. You may feel off when you used to take that fourth tablet for a start. Not exactly sure of the method for stepping over. No doubt the professor will see your post and give you a guided tour.
