Hi!  I'm glad to hear you've started CBT.  I hope it works well for you.  Don't be worried about taking amoxil...it is a mild antibiotic.  Some antibiotics actally have anit-arrtythmic properties and actually make those you have heart palps, feel somewhat better while taking.  So you are taking the xanax as needed 3 times a day or are you taking it 3 times a day?  If the doctor prescribed it for you to take that way, it is fine.  You should let them know if you do not start seeing a decrease in your anxiety level,as they may be able to give you something that is longer-lasting.  Xanax is a sedative, and it works well for panic attacks and anxiety that comes and goes, but you may need something long term. I'm sure your doctor and therapist will work together to get your meds right for you and it sounds like they are trying to get your anxiety level down at this point.  You sound so much like me, my right ear has so much fluid build up right now, I'm fixing to request a tube be put in ;)  That triggers my anxiety almost as much if not more than my heart palps do.  I cannot stand to be dizzy.  It's the worst!  Keep us posted, and know you are doing everything you should be doing.  You are going to be feeling better before you know it!

I'm glad that you're in therapy. Saves me having to suggest you give it a try! LOL
I think it will really help with your anxiety, so good for you!
Please be careful with the Xanax. It was prescribed for you on a PRN (as needed) basis and you now find yourself taking it daily. And not only daily but 3X a day. Red flag! I am not saying that you are "abusing" the drug, but it was not prescribed for you on a daily basis.............over-use of a medication can turn into a problem before we realize it's happening. Again, I just want you to be careful with this particular med.
Your dose is now at .75, which is still a fairly small dose, and if you only take that for a couple of weeks, you will not have any problem going back to using it on a PRN basis. BUT, if you continue to take it daily, then you need to let your doctor know. Xanax  is meant for short term use only on a daily basis........four months max. He/she may want to change you to a long acting benzo if you find you need something daily. Xanax is a nightmare to w/d from and tolerance builds very quickly.
There are other benzos that work just as well as Xanax but some of them have to build up in your body first, whereas Xanax works the first time you take it.
I think a discussion with your doctor would be good at this point.
Peace

It is my understanding that even taking a small dose of Xanax, on a maintenance base, will get you addicted, and you have to wean yourself from the drug. However, because of the low dosage the weaning period is much abbreviated.
