zoloft symptoms? Please help!

Hi, I have had anxiety problems for a few years. My Dr. gave me xanax, .25mg, 2x a day. I have been taking this on and off for over a year. I asked to take it 3 times daily, and he said it is habit forming, and suggested zoloft. I took 25 mg. the first day, but I was so shakey (shaky), weak, dizzy, and headache. Day 2 I took 12.5 mg. I am now on day 7of 12.5 mg, and .25mg xanax in the morning. As soon as I wake up, Iget weak and dizzy and my heart pounds. I take both meds and feel semi ok until around2pm. My heart pounds and I shake inside and my stomach hurts. At 5pm I take ,25mg xanax, and the pounding subsides. Are these side effects from the zoloft or xanax withdrawl (withdrawal)? Tomorrow I am supposed to up my zoloft, but I'm afraid symptoms will get worse. Please help! cindy

I believe they are from the xanex.  The xanex only lasts a few hours.  Does your dr. have a plan for you to withdraw from the xanex?

Why are you taking both xanax and zoloft?..Seems crazy to me...

The dr, wants me to try the zoloft to get away from the xanax, but I didn't feel like this bad until I started the zoloft, which was only 8 days ago.

Just got back from dr., and he said to stop zoloft (only took 12.5 mg. for 8 days). He said the zoloft was making me worse. He also put me on xanax xl .5mg. He says I need a constant dose because the twice a day dose was rising and dropping in my system. Then he will lower the strength next. I hope this will work. Any helpfull hints?
