High levels of progestrone

by courtcl, Aug 22, 2008 05:54PM
I took clomid 50mg in July, got a positive pregnancy test on day 33. Went in for blood work on day 38 my hcg was 585 and progestrone was 129. Went back two days later to check my levels and they went up hcg 1168 and progestrone was 167. Are these high levels of progestrone normal?

I cannot interpret numbers as we don't get p counts in UK but I certainly know that it is paramount to have a high level of progesterone in order to sustain a pregnancy.  Progesterone levels need to increase during first trimester which is why some women take progesterone supplements, if body producing low levels, to hopefully keep the pregnancy going.  So I would not worry at all, I would be very happy to see levels going higher!  If they were getting lower then I would be very worried as sign all not well... x
