Prenatal Vitamins...

Hello everyone, I am due April 9th.  We were scared for a little while that this pregnancy might have been another ectopic but my hcg levels have been going up like they should and I had on u/s done @ 5weeks, they saw a sac but now pole yet.  So we are going in on Monday for our next one, I will be 6weeks 3days so we should see something.  Anyway my question is what Prenatal Vitamins are everyone taking?  We were on vacation when we found out we were pregnant and I didn't have any vitamins with me so we got OneADay Women's Prenatal over the counter.  I have been taking them for the past two weeks and got a prescription for Primacare One from a local Dr.  I don't know how good of vitiamins they are.  I was surprised to see that the over the counter OneADays had more ingredients and higher %DV then the on the OB prescribed, all except Folic Acid which was only 200mcg's less.  I know more isn't always better and Folic Acid is very important, but the OneADay's have more of the ingridients as the vitiamins I took with my daughter.  If anyone else is taking the Primacare One or have a recomindation for a good vitiamin please give me your input.  For now I like the OneADay's.

Congratulations, its such a relief to know baby is where baby should be after an ectopic isn't it.

Just be wary of the OneADay's if they have Vitamin A in, as too much is harmful to the baby, and is not recommended in supplement form. It is also found in high levels in liver and pate and pregnant women are advised to avoid these too.

Hi I would recommend 'Pregnancare Plus'.  There are two tablets to take daily- one is a prenatal multi vitamin with folic acid 400mcg and the other an omega 3 capsule for brain development.  This is the UK's best selling prenatal vit so it is well known.  It does not contain harmful vit A.  You can get it on ebay- I am sure they will send outside UK too.  I will be taking thme throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding as recommended...
