Had an MRI today around 1pm. At 345 I received a call to come back right away for an MRA. They thought I had an aneurysm, ended up it wasn't but said my vessels in my brain are very twisted and appeared like an aneurysm on MRI. Does having the "twisted vessels" mean I have an AVM?
It doesn't automatically mean that, but it's possible that you have an AVM. AVMs and aneurysms are fairly similar looking, both being malformations. Though not all malformations of the brain become symptomatic, and the discovery of one does not necessarily demand treatment. It really depends on the risk of hemorrhage to determine if and what treatment should be used. There are a number of options for treatment, if needed, so talk to your doctor about those.
