About Gout

I woke up from a several hour nap the other day with my big toe hot, red swollen and painful in the joint, but it only last a couple hours. I've never had that happen before, and not only do I not drink we don't eat a lot of red meat. Was that a gout attack? I have enough problems with Lupus, Raynauds, OA, Fibro, DDD, memory problems.

I will let you know what the Doc says. It's hard to remember everything I have to discuss with her, and it's with a new Dr as my old one left the clinic. It's the only place that excepts my insurance, so now I have to get to know another Dr, and on top of that I finally have my SSD hearing next week........finally, so much going around in my mind it's making my head spin. I'll be glad when next week is over. Thanks for your help!

I am on plaquenil, too.  I am glad you are going to talk to your doctor.  I know what you mean about not needing one more thing.  I feel like I have a regular laundry list of conditions!  Please let us know what you find out.

Not that I noticed, ever since I got on Plaquenil I have less fevers, as a matter of fact I usually run at a lower 97. I have my regular 2 month appointment with my regular Dr on Tuesday, my Rhuemy on the 18th so I will talk to them both about this.

It is possible that it was a mild gout attack but a doctor should be consulted to make that determination.  Did you experience a fever at the same time?
