Aches and pains in my legs

Hello:

I am not asking to be diagnosed over the Internet, I understand that tests must be run and a medical evaluation must take place. I need information on what doctor to set and appointment with according to my symptoms. I don´t have high or low blood pressure, no diabetes, heart condition, liver or kidney problems or other illnesses.

I am 69 years old, post menopause female, I have two cancers that are in remission, done with all treatments and not taking any meds just my bimonthly follow ups. Before treatments I had a mild Osteopenia and a mild Osteoporosis in my right arm. After treatments I have a full blown Osteoporosis according to the bone scans. After treatments I have severe aches and pains in my knees, ankles & feet, slight swelling in the mornings and my feet have a burning sensation. I don't take AIs and will not take them.

I am taking calcium, vitamins: D3, K, B and E plus magnesium for my bones. I have a very healthy diet plus the fact I am a life long vegetarian I am now also eating blue fish, wild sea and river fish not from farms and algae. I practice Taichi for stability on a daily basis, walk under the sun two hours per day. I believe I may have a Chemo/radiotherapy induced arthritis or similar.

I had an appointment with a Rheumatologist, I was unlucky with the doctor. He did not read my medical file and all he did was prescribe Aclasta though it should not be prescribed to cancer patients. All specific warnings about Aclasta were not mentioned to me. I told the doctor I will never take Bisphophonates as I prefer life quality than quantity. He did not even ask if I was taking vitamins or others.

Living in a third world country it is not easy to find specialists, what specialist would you suggest? According to what I have mentioned what could my condition be called? Could it be a chemo or radiotherapy side effect?
I need this information because if necessary I will travel to Chile, Argentina or Brazil to see a specialist here in Peru the medical profession is quite poor.

Please help me find the right specialist and to know exactly were to travel according to the information you may provide me with.

I hope you can help me.

Regards.

Before you try another doctor you might want to try going off your vitamins for a bit.  It is possible to get some of your symptoms if you are taking too many of some of your supplements (i.e. too much magnesium can cause joint and muscle pain) - do a searchon overdoses.  If that is not the case a good rheumatologist is still your best bet.  Sorry you are fighting this after all you've been through.
