Any known cures

I have been diagnosed with fibrous ankylosis after a partial knee replacement (titanium) in May of 2006.  The pain continued during therapy so after an exploratory type surgery they found massive scar tissue and removed it but 3 weeks later it grew back even larger.  My doctor is very competent knee specialiast and sports doctor and I trust his diagnosis but want to search every medical area on this diagnosis and see if there is something new that has developed. The pain is consistant and the mobility is about 85%.  Would appreciate any comments.  Thanks.

Fibrous ankylosis can be difficult to treat.  Injection of steroids, or trigger point injections with lidocaine can be of benefit.  Depending on the extent, surgical options can be considered as well.  

You can consider another orthopedic opinion to further discuss treatment options, preferably at a major academic medical center.

Another consideration would be a plastic surgery referral.  

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
