Arthritis and Rash

I've been diagnose with rheumatoid arthritis. I receive remicaid infusion every 5 weeks and I am taking methetrexate x8 pills once a week. I have experienced chest pains that stop me in my tracks and leave me doubled over. I have been in the hospital x2 over the last year (pneumonia and a severe flare).
My new symptom is a rash that is on my forehead, cheeks, ears, and neck. It has appeared prominently x3 and is usually an indication that a flare is coming. Is the rash related to the arthritis or should I see a dermatologist.

If you have not already contacted your doctor to make him/her aware of this symptom, please do so.  It could be indicative that you have something else going on that needs to be treated or it could be a rare side effect.  Either way, it should be addressed with your doctor soon.  Please let us know how you are doing and what you learn.

Hello,
When I read your post I was soooo concerned.....are the meds having a side effect on you?  Have you read the side effects for the meds?  I drink a juice that can help with arthritis, but at this point the chest pains are the big deal..........
Did you change anything that may have triggered the rash?  New meds?

Concerned for you,
Lynn

the rash you described sounds like the lupus rash.  Have you been tested for it?  good luck.
