Daughter's Difficult Diagnosis

Daughter's Difficult Diagnosis

My daughter is 37 mos old, for the last 7 mos she has been waking up in middle of night screaming in pain.  She has been able to tell me she has pain in her ankles, legs, hips, and throughout her back, usually both sides, and it moves around with each occurence.  She has also lost some weight during this time due to poor appetite.  In the morning she is clumsy and may fall for no obvious reason - in a child that started walking at 8 mos and running at 14 mos.  Due to poor sleep, she is very irritable in morning as well.  2 mos ago she started running low-grade fevers in evenings ranging from 99.1 to 99.9 but is fine during the day.  We have her in Aleve at bedtime to control pain, if we don't give her Aleve, she starts waking up the 2nd or 3rd night with pain again.  Met with pediatric rheumatologist - he is ordering a bone scan this week - but he said "I doubt we'll find anything."  He implied she's waking up at 2:30AM because she doesn't have enough time with her parents - we both work full-time while she is in daycare- and its become a pattern.  She's had a basic rheumatology blood panel - everything was normal.  I've read that young children will have symptoms for some time before blood work shows a diagnosis - is this true?  Does anyone have any ideas?  Do we need to take her to orthopedics?  Please help!
