Hi Kate. I don't have polymalgia, but I have widespread pain so I can relate to your condition in that way. I am sorry to read you that you have had your symptoms worsen and now have to have a biopsy. My experience with biopsies is limited but the ones I have had were not as bad as they sounded or as I expected. There was discomfort and some pain but it passed in a few days.
There are members of our forum who are your age and younger. Me, I have about a decade on you, but it still feels young to have my body betray me this way. I spent 2 years feeling older than my 90 year old grandmother. It does get better with treatment. Best news is I read polymyalgia generally goes away within a few years. I hope that you bring that average down!
