Hello and welcome!  The term "hip" is sometimes used to describe many different areas in the pelvic region.  Can you tell us where you are experiencing discomfort?

Hi,
Thanks for the warm welcome. Hope you are having a good day.
To answer your question the pain is near the fold of the leg near the pelvis, and I think sometimes across my pelvis. I was told by OBGYN that it was a groan muscle pull and  to rest. I wanted to know for sure what the pain was, so I got a xray for hip arthritis yesterday. I go to the Doctor next Monday. I am at the age where arthritis is very common.

Thanks for writing back.  Arthritis of the hip will cause pain, stiffness or loss of range of motion where your leg joins your pelvis.  Sometimes people with sacrolitis report hip pain but the source is actually up deep in, well, what feels like your touche.  It can cause pain to run into your hip and down your leg.  I have heard some people with sacrolitis report pain where you are describing but that can be a coincidence.  Always good to get it checked out so you have peace of mind.  Let us know what they say.

Hi and welcome to our forum.   I manage an Orthopadeic Surgeons office and we see nothing but folks with hip and knee problems. You did the right thing in getting an x-ray done. Please let us know the results and I will be happy to answer any questions you have.  Take care.
