I had several lab tests done to rule out immune thyroidism and chronic urticaria. Good news is that I don't have any of the immune disorders they were testing me for. One test that was done was marginal high per the nurse at that office for Complement test (CH50). It should be between 31-66 per the paperwork and it was 94. I sent a message with the lab report to my rheumatologist but haven't heard from his office yet and I'm unable to be seen until February, which is okay with me. I'm not in severe pain and have not been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I have fsince 1997 have bouts with flushing, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, elevated blood pressure during the attack, and a rash all over with itching when I have allergic reactions. My family practice doctor put me on prednisolone pack and benadryl. When I explained this to my allergist, he doesn't understand why I get rapid heart rate with an allergy attack. I believe he thinks it is anxiety but I have an identical twin sister who gets the same syptoms with allergy attacks. My family practice doctor has seen it in action with my sister (my sister works in her office, but she is not her family practice doctor). They've had to call 911 and the parametics had to rushed her to the ER. As soon as the benadryl kicks in with prednisolone, than the rapid heart rate slows down and my blood pressure returns back to normal. Many times I feel like people think we get anxiety when this happens. I've been dealing with this since 1997 and when I do have an allergic reactions, I relax, take my benadryl as soon as possible, and do breathing techniques to relax. I know that getting hyped up will cause me more harm than good. I just don't feel that it's anxiety and do believe that my sister and I do have something going on with our bodies and that no one can figure it out. We have been tested in the past for all types of autoimmune disorders, but that was back in 1997. Is there hope or are we to keep dealing with these strange symptoms. Also I was concerned about the CH50 report. Thank you for any response.
