Hi. I am a 42 year old female. Chronically high CRP level (recently 26), negative ANA, negative RH, very slightly elevated SED rate. I have been experiencing chronic fatigue and joint/muscle pain and swelling and just feel awful for several months. Rheumatologist doesn't seemed to concerned.
CRP is basically a non-specific acute phase reactant and could be elevated in any infection or inflammation. While ANA again is positive for most autoimmune conditions, the test does not specifically diagnose a condition. Possible cause of joint and muscle pain that may need to be considered include infection, inflammations, micronutrient deficiencies, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities, electrolyte abnormalities, drug side effects, fibromyalgia, degenerative conditions etc. It would be best to discuss the further management plan in detail with your rheumatologist for initiating appropriate treatment.
Hope this is helpful.
