Every night I wake up with hip pain just on the left side. When I first get up it hurts to put wieght on it until I move around awhile. My bone scan density scan was fine. I'm 49 years old & already had a knee replaced. Does it sound like I could possibly need hip replacement too?
Exactly where is the pain? If it feels like it's in your groin area or the crease where your thigh meets your pelvis, that's your hip joint. If it's anywhere else, like on the outside or back, it's not the hip joint and it could be muscle spasms from the way you're sleeping at night. Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees.
