Just Been Diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in Spine

Yesterday I saw specialist at local hospital and told result of CT scan I had four weeks ago.  I have been having pain in my hip/pelvis for nearly two years.  Now told I have osteoarthritis in spine.  Had no back pain, only the hip pain.  Presume this is what is known as referred pain, but I must admit I am bemused.  Does glucosamine  or any other supplement help with arthritis in spine?  I am 69 yrs old, so know it is due to wear and tear.

I have to say, I think the mattress/topper has made a huge difference for me.  I sleep better and that helps me hurt less.  When I first started my journey and got the topper, it did make a difference in my morning stiffness.  It was not as bad and did not last as long.  At the same time I started sleeping wrapped around a body pillow and I have to say that helped a lot, too.
I would love to correspond with you and look forward to getting to know you :)

Hello, Thank you so much for your message.  My daughter only said to me yesterday about buying a memory foam mattress.  Do you think that helps?  When I get up in the morning I am so stiff.

Would you be my friend so we can discuss things further?   It would be nice to correspond with someone who understands.

Sorry to read you are joining our ranks but glad you have found us here.  I wish I could tell you that there is a supplement that will help but I tried a number of them without success.  What are they doing to treat you?  Are they giving you anything for pain?  Have you tried heat or topicals to get relief?  My body pillow and a memory foam topper for my mattress did wonders to help ease my discomfort.
