Lupus signs and symptoms

I am a 24 year old white female. My "illness" began June2006 when I came back from a month long stayin Poland. I started to notice symptoms about a week after arrival. I started to get abdominal pain.Slowly the pain increased lower back hurt too. I also developed nausea and "woozy"feeling, I did not have a fever. I went to the hospital because abdominal pain was so bad.The hospital ran blood tests but were not able to come up with anything. All blood work came back normal.X-rays of my abdomin (abdomen) and chest and ultrasound of my abdomin (abdomen)=normal. Also developed a pins and needles sensation in my head and pressure in the head that has not gone away. The pain in my abdomin (abdomen) continued,a sharp pain in my left side as well as along the entire bottom. I also had severe pressure in my abdomin (abdomen). I saw a naturopath.Ran some tests, said that I had a virus in my colon and lower intestine. He gave some drops to take.I started to feel better. The nausea and pain came back periodically but was not as severe as it was in the beginning. When I was taking the drops he prescribed my lower abdomin (abdomen) started to gurgle. I developed a numb feeling especially on the right side of my body. I felt like I was short of breath and could feel my heart beating, esp. in my head. All of this eventually went away except the pins and needles and pressure feeling in my head.Since Jan2007 symptoms have come back.I feel pressure in my entire face+ear pain and fullnessThe abdominal pain is coming back along with muscle and neck pain which seems to come and go & feel like there is something in my throat when I swallow.

You have had a pretty comprehensive evaluation for your symptoms.  That being said, they are fairly non-specific and can be indicative of a number of diseases.

The abdominal pain can be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome or diverticulitis.  A CT scan and/or colonoscopy can be done to further evaluate this.

The numbness can be evaluated by a neurologist.  An MRI of the brain can be considered to further evaluate these symptoms.

Nausea and upper abdominal pain can be indicative of dyspepsia or other upper GI disorders.  An upper endoscopy, upper GI series, or ultrasound can be considered to evaluate these possibilities.

These options can be discussed with your personal physician, or in conjunction with a GI physician, or neurologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I read your thread and I feel the same way...somewhat of the same symptoms. Its hard to get good answers from this particular forum because the answer is in the blood work. I am waiting to get tested (im scared!)...On top of your symptoms...does your skin burn too? or is that just me?
