MY R.A. ANY INPUT?

HI

I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH RA AND HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH IT FOR 10 YEARS! I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE HAND AND FOOT SURGERIES OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS. I AM 39, BUT FEEL LIKE I AM 90.
CURRENTLY, I JUST HAD MY RIGHT FOOT OPERATED ON ( NO FUN THAT WAS!) I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR AND NOW I AM WAITING FOR MY DOCTOR (ORTHROPIEDIC SURGON) TO OK MY LEFT FOOT TO BE OPERATED ON. I LIVE IN TEXAS. OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO STOP TAKING MY HUMEIRA SO THAT I COULD HAVE MY SURGERIES DONE. I HARDLY EVER TAKE PAIN MEDS BECAUSE THEY DONT WORK...WHY BOTHER.

I FEEL LIKE I AM AT THE END OF THE ROAD. I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN, I HAVE 3 KIDS, THE YOUNGEST 1 1/2 YEARS.

I FELT I WAS GETTING BETTER WHILE ON THE HUMEIRA...NO CYSTS NO BULDGES, LESS PAIN...BUT OTHER THAN STOPPING IT SO I COULD HAVE MORE SURGERIES, I FOUND OUT THAT THE MEDICATION HURTS YOUR BODY NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.....

I JUST DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE! DO I GET BACK ON HUMEIRA AFTER ALL THE REST OF MY SURGERIES ARE DONE? HOW DO I PREVENT CYSTS IN THE MEAN TIME? ANY ADVICE WILL HELP THANKS SO MUCH...

I wish I could help! Are those painless bone cysts that could be seen on x-rays or RA skin nodes? Ask your doctor whether you allowed to take Curcumin supplement (found in a curry powder and it could be bought in natural/organic food stores) which is strong antiinflamatory and antioxidant extract (some compare it to corticosteroids without their side effects).  It might help you somewhat with inflammation of joints until you are allowed to take Humira. It is also good for pain. Did you ever try Orencia? It is a new biological similar to Humira prescribed to people with modarate to severe RA and those that do not  respond well to Humira.
