Meds. forever?
Will my husband always need monthly infusions of Orencia to remain pain free? He is in his 40's.

Hi Laura,
As there is no cure for autoimmune diseases like RA (I'm assuming that's what he has), he will probably need to be on some kind of medication for the rest of his life. It's the only way to halt or at least slow down the progression of the disease.
It's hard to say if he will always be on Orencia. He may need to switch to a different med if Orencia loses effectiveness (immune systems can be slippery that way); or a new medication that works as well or better with fewer side effects will almost certainly be developed at some point.
I'm glad Orencia is working for him! Enjoy those pain-free days and my hope for him and you is that they continue indefinitely. :)
