Numerous diagnosis-Sjogrens, reactive arthritis, epstein-barr, cmv

My husband has been recently seen by a arthritis specialist - he has been diagnoised with a pharmacy list of health problems.  Sjogrens, reactive arthritis, epstein-barr, & cmv.  Added to his already having been on high cholesterol meds & antianxiety meds.  He is in so much pain all the time & when he takes his medications they absolutely wipe him out.  He keeps talking about dying.  Last year he had surgery to remove the salivary gland under his tongue because of multiple infections & stones.  He's always exhausted and can hardly function with or without the medications.  Please someone tell me, will he get better?  He's been ill for the past two years and it just seems to be getting worse.  Does anyone have any info?  He's 5'11" and maybe weighs 160lbs.  I've lost so many family members in the past few years & now this.  Please someone, anyone what is the prognosis?
