Occupational Therapy Advice

I am an Occupational Therapist currently working within Rheumatology.

As part of my role I can advise people on protecting their joints, managing fatigue and also discuss and provide small and larger pieces of equipment if the person is having problems with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing (doing up buttons, pulling on socks etc), preparing a meal (including opening jars/bottles and holding knives and forks), even working and driving.

I feel that anyone with any type of arthritis, especially one significantly affecting the hands can benefit from our help.  I would be happy to provide informal advice if anyone is having problems with their daily tasks due to their condition however you should also request a formal assessment from your rheumatologist if you feel your ability to carry out daily tasks is becoming a problem.
