Osteoarthritis and Sed Rate

Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein?  Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition?

Thanks!

No, osteoarthritis is not auto immune and the sed rate is only relevant when the immune system is involved.  A high sed reate and C-Reactive protein is common in many different auto immune types of arthritis.  Are you seeing a rheumatologist?

Actually, sed rate elevation can be caused by inflammation of any sort, and infection of any dort. It increases easily in response to many, many things.

Yes, I am scheduled to see one.  I was just wondering while I am waiting if this could be related to osteoarthritis since I know have that condition.

Thank you!
