Post-Partum Joint Pain - Asian link?

I am breast-feeding twins and am experiencing joint pain in my extremities and knees. Asking friends and family, I noticed that Asian origin women seem to have much higher incidence of post-partum joint problems.  Is this more than just anecdoctal? Is there any recommended approach?  After her second child my sister has become virtually crippled by arthritis type pain and I am quite concerned though I want to continue to breast-feed.

While I am unaware of an increased incidence in Asians, postpartum joint pain is soemthing many women go through.  Do you have a form of arthritis?  If not, it can still happen.  Because pregnancy is tough on your muscles and joints (especially twins!) many women experience what you are describing.  Have you tried heat therapy, massage or accupuncture?  I have seen some posts indicating that those treatments have helped.  There is also an article at the parenthood website that suggests physical therapy.
